After several weeks of travel, Thane and Lyra came across a small village that was under attack by a group of bandits. Without hesitation, they sprang into action, using their combined skills to defeat the attackers and save the village.
As a reward for their bravery, the villagers invited Thane and Lyra to stay with them and rest for a few days. They were welcomed with open arms, and Thane felt like he had finally found a place where he belonged.
However, their newfound happiness was short-lived. One night, Thane overheard a group of villagers plotting against Lyra. They were jealous of her powers and saw her as a threat to their way of life.
Thane was torn between his loyalty to his friend and his desire to stay in the village. He tried to reason with the villagers, but they wouldn't listen. They were determined to rid themselves of Lyra, no matter the cost.
In the end, Thane made the difficult decision to betray Lyra. He told the villagers where she was hiding and how to capture her. As he watched her being dragged away, he felt a deep sense of shame and regret.
But it was too late. Thane had lost the only friend he had in this strange new world, and he knew that he could never forgive himself for what he had done. He left the village, wandering once again through the unfamiliar landscape, alone and filled with remorse.
